Top winter sun destination
Press Release (Published: 22 September 2009)
It has recently been reported that the Canary Islands are set to remain the number one winter destination for British visitors.
Flight capacity has increased, counteracting the negative effects of being in the eurozone. Monarch Airlines will operate 64 flights a week to the Canaries from October, the extra 500,000 seats meaning a 32% capacity hike compared with last winter.
New services to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura from Birmingham, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester account for most of the increase. EasyJet is also expanding, adding Fuerteventura from Stansted and Liverpool, and also Lanzarote from Liverpool.
Vivid Canaries has an excellent range of accommodation options in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
